The Defence Ministry and the Education & Culture Ministry are planning to allow university students to enlist in the military reserve component program. This program will be done for a semester and equal to one course credit (SKS - Satuan Kredit Semester).
This program is made not to only level up one’s creativity and innovation but also to foster their love for the nation in their daily lives. It also matches and connects with Law No.23/2019 on the management of national resources for state defense.
Even though was rumored to be compulsory, the truth is this program is voluntary and will give the students not only a graduation diploma but also rank as a commissioned officer in the reserve force if the requirements are met. So far, it’s still unknown when will this program be implemented, but, what do you think about this program? Is it yay or nay?
