What Should I Do After I Got Accepted?

When a student got accepted to a university, they usually will have no direction of what to do next. That’s why now we’ll give you some tips in making the right decisions and steps:

  1. Wait for more options to arrive

If you’ve applied to several different universities, the best choice for you is to wait and see for more acceptance letters. However, you may won’t have much time to wait and consider more options since most universities required answers by May.

2. Compare costs

Paying special attention to the costs of each university (that you’re accepted into) is also important. Not only the tuition, but also the cost of living such as meal plan and accommodation. One way to do this is through making spreadsheets for tracking and comparing.

3. Research the school again

Of course before we apply to a school we have done many research of our dream schools. But, there’s nothing wrong in spending some time in doing so again to see the events that you can attend. If possible, maybe you could also visit the school in-person.

4. Talk it over

Talking and communicating with your parents, close friends, and high school teachers may help in narrowing down the college choices and in giving advices that will help you throughout your university life.

5. Contact rejected schools

Lastly, after you’ve decided on a college, you should contact the colleges that you won’t attend. This is a courteous gesture and will let the university send acceptance letters to students on the waiting list. Most colleges will include rejection form on their acceptance letter too.

Receiving acceptance letters and accepting the offer is your first step towards a new adventure. Don’t rush into a decision and good luck in exploring a whole new version of yourself.
