COVID-19 Unites the Automotive Industry in a Single Goal

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

The severity of the coronavirus has brought the automotive industry together in reducing the impact of the virus through different ways. Recently, Tesla announced a new ventilator prototype built from unused electric car parts. The carmaker posted a Youtube video on Sunday showing a few engineers briefly showing off the concept prototype that uses spare parts rather than specialized, expensive components. Lamborghini, the Italian carmaker well known for their V12 supercar, also joined the cause by producing up to 1,000 masks and 200 3D face shields for coronavirus medics. Ford Motors, General Motors, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles utilizes their factories to produce tens of thousands of respirators, face masks, face shields, and surgical gloves to help local hospitals.
