PS5 Console Review

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

Background Information:

At the Future of Gaming even, Sony gave viewers a look at the new PlayStation 5 console. The company showed off the upcoming PS5 at the end of the event next to the new DualSense controller that we debuted back in April. Sony also displayed a suite of gear like an HD camera, controller charging station media remote and Pulse 3D wireless headset. It's unclear at this time if the gear is bundled or optional to add.

The new PS5, which was also pictured laying on its side, is a futuristic white with black finish and blue highlights. According to Sony, the next-gen console will have two versions: a standard model with a Blu-ray drive and a slimmer, discless Digital Edition machine. CNET's sister site GameSpot reported that the PS5 uses a solid-state drive, as opposed to a hard drive like previous PlayStations, and that game discs will support a capacity of up to 100GB.

Thoughts on the PS5 by a PC Gamer

Yeah, I honestly don’t give a crap about the PS5. However, that’s perhaps due to the fact that the last console I ever used was the Wii. However, from a preliminary observation the games that would be released with the launch of the PS5 might not come out for another year so buying the console at launch without hearing reviews beforehand might be a waste. However, I truly feel that the PS has a lot of potential to become a very good game console by 2021.
