During this pandemic, it’s hard to find positivity. But there is one unlikely thing that is benefiting from such a trying time: our planet Earth. Due to the strict lockdown rules and the thousands of people quarantining around the world, the skies have cleared up and people are becoming accustomed to sustainable living. Skies around the world are starting to clear up from the white haze because of the decline in carbon emissions and pollution. Satellites observing the earth noticed a decrease in the concentration of nitrogen dioxide which is usually emitted by power plants and vehicles. In Venice, Italy, the water in canals has become crystal clear for the first time in sixty years. Not only that, but people are also doing more planet-friendly habits. The virus pandemic is certainly not a good thing. However, there is a way for us to look at the bright side of things. Our Earth is finally on a well-deserved break!
