At this point in time, TikTok is one of the most used social media platforms, and yet, it has driven many influencers to ridicule people of color through the viral “How's my form?” challenge.
In this challenge, influencers would start their videos with advice but soon afterwards, would show an extremely saturated image of themselves and ask, “How’s my form?” to imitate racial stereotypes.
“Though its rules say that “content that dehumanizes or incites violence or hatred against individuals or groups” is not allowed, where exactly does the app draw the line of racism for this online trend?” - Analissa Nunez.
Although this challenge might seem trendy, everyone who has participated in this event must be able to face their consequences. Just two months back two high school students were expelled due to their involvement in depicting racists views on the Black community.
Despite the effects of blackphishing, however, many tiktokers would still rather risk their safety than to not gain any clout at all.
