The Rise of The Hibernating Volcano

Gunung Merapi, or famously known as Indonesia’s most active volcano, erupted once again at 5:22 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Although the eruption only lasted for eight minutes, the effect of the eruption was drastic. After the eruption ended, a 6 kilometer of ash emerged, blocking the sight of roads and homes from the community in Yogyakarta, leading to the closure of one of a neighboring city’s airport, Solo.
